About us

In our laboratory, we are interested in the role of different sensorial channels on the interaction of plants with their main associated animals. With special attention on chemical cues mediating plant-insect interactions. Among the projects we are developing we are studying floral fragrance variation among altitudinal gradients and its interaction with pollinators and larcenists. Also we are studying the role of floral resins and oils in the interaction with mutualists and antagonist animals. Furthermore, in collaboration with colleagues from different universities we are exploring the effects of plant hormones related with herbivory resistance in floral fragrance.
